Doctor Strange Eachez Release

A Doctor Strange Eachez has been released today at the Disneyland Resort, Walt Disney World Resort and the Disney Store Online in anticipation of the upcoming Marvel movie Doctor Strange that will be released next Friday. These figures have a Limited Edition of 2,500 and were designed by artist Thomas Scott.

The common figure (pictured left) is Doctor Strange, with 9 in 10 odds of being in the box for a total of 2,250 figures. The variant figure (pictured right) is the Doctor Strange Astral Projection figure with 1 in 10 odds of being in the box for a total of 250 figures. Each blind box retails at $16.99

A Star Lord Eachez has been released today at the Disneyland Resort, the Walt Disney World Resort and the Disney Store online. The common figure is masked Star Lord (pictured right) with 9 in 10 odds of being in the blind box. The variant figure is unmasked Star Lord (pictured left) with 1 in 10 odds of being inside the blind box. This has a Limited Edition size of 2,500 meaning there are 2,250 common figures and 250 variant figures. Both figures were designed by artist Billy Davis and each blind box retails at $16.99

I loved this series from the start but I am blown away now that I've seen the backs of these figures! Each blind box retails at $12.99

The Backside of Vinyls - Haunted Mansion Tightrope Portrait

With Halloween just around the corner, I decided a Haunted Mansion Vinylmation would be appropriate for October's The Backside of Vinyls. This is the ballerina from the tightrope portrait in the Haunted Mansion.

Naturally, the back of this vinyl is largely the back of the ballerina herself. Her collared dress, her hair, and her white gloves. In the back of her left ear is the parasol she holds while standing on the tightrope, and some of the foliage from the painting can be seen in the back of her right ear.

The best part of the back side of this figure is the crocodile at her feet, which extends around to the left and right side of the vinyl. The detail by Ron Cohee is very impressive, with no space wasted. I love how you can turn this figure around to see the extension of the portraits, in the same way that the portrait itself appears one way in the Haunted Mansion, before transforming to give a very different image as the room stretches. You can see the guests in their "corruptible mortal state" by looking only at the front of the vinyl, and see the complete portrait by looking at the backs of the figures. Perfect!
