Vinylmation Dreaming - Moana Series

Today I have another Vinylmation Dreaming post for you! I'd like to share my idea for a Moana Vinylmation series! I saw Moana back in November, and I absolutely loved it! I've been listening to the incredible soundtrack regularly ever since and keep checking out all the merchandise available. I think it was an oversight that Disney did not release a Vinylmation series. Here's what I think a Moana series should look like.

They could produce some incredible art on the blind boxes!

I would make this an 8 figure blind box set, with our favorite characters of course! For the common figures I would include:

Moana
Who needs a necklace accessory!

Maui
With a fishhook accessory

Hei Hei
Who should have a tail and comb accessory

Pua

Tamatoa
Who would have claws like Sebastian from Animaion #2

Kakamora
They should have these hat accessories as well as blowdart accessories
One of these two would be the common and the other a variant figure

Baby Moana
She would have a flower and shell accessory

I would make the chaser in this series Te Fiti:

Te Fiti
She would have a flower headband accessory

I already mentioned that I think there should be a variant of the Kakamora figure. I also think there should be two other variants:

Chief Moana variant
She should have the flower headband accessory

Neon Tamatoa variant
Again he would have claws

I think this would be a great series to collect and I know that the Disney Design Group artists, especially Ron Cohee would absolutely kill it! I would love to see a Moana Vinylmation series come to fruition!

Vinylmation Dreaming - Trash Can Series

Today I have another Vinylmation Dreaming post for you! I'd like to share my idea of a Vinylmation Trash Can series. The trash cans at Walt Disney World have become an icon. Their theming and design makes them blend in and even look attractive. Disney's trash cans have become popular salt and pepper shakers and even Christmas ornaments. Why not have a Vinylmation series?

There is already a 9" Fantasyland trash can Vinylmation from Park #3 which still seems to be popular, so I think a 3" series would be fitting and not overkill at all. I would make this an 8 figure set with some variants. I would have trash cans from across the four parks at Walt Disney World, adding some Disneyland trash cans in there too. I would have Main Street USA, Animal Kingdom, Fantasyland, Adventureland, Tomorrowland, Frontierland and World Showcase as the commons (all pictured above) with Hollywood Studios as the chaser (also pictured above).

PUSH (pictured above) would be a variant for the Tomorrowland Trash Can, and the Walt Disney World version of the Fantasyland trash can would be the variant for the Disneyland trash can (pictured below).

I would also include as third variant, the Dino Institute trash can as a variant of the Animal Kingdom trash can:

Why? Because it's one of my favorites. I think this would be a unique set that would grab the attention of Walt Disney World and Disneyland fans. I think trash can Vinylmation would be popular and fun to own, especially with the popularity of other trash can merchandise.

Vinylmation Dreaming - Captain EO

Welcome to another Vinylmation Dreaming post, where I talk about Vinylmation that I hope are produced someday. Today I want to share my idea for a Captain EO Vinylmation. Captain EO seems to be a love it or hate it attraction. It had two runs at Walt Disney World (1986-1994 and 2010-2015) and now that it's second run has sadly come to an end, I think it's time for this extinct attraction to be immortalized as a Vinylmation.

I found a Captain EO Vinylmation by custom artist Justin Marshall, and I think his design would be just perfect! While the obvious option would be a vinyl of Michael Jackson as Captain EO, using his image may be an issue. Either way, I think Justin's design is far more creative. He used the body, arms and legs of the figure for the Captain EO logo, with a background of outer space and stars. I love the metallic colors he's used! The head represents the black screen of the theater, with purple 3D glasses on the face to represent the audience watching the 3D attraction.

Another neat feature of Justin's design is the silver glove on the vinyl's head, a wonderful nod to Captain EO himself. I think this design would work incredibly on either a 3" Vinylmation figure, or as a 9" like Justin created. Maybe this could be part of the MIA Park #15 set?

Or even an Eachez with Captain EO and the Supreme Leader:

It could even be a 9"/3" or 3"/Jr. combo with Captain EO's sidekick Fuzzball:

I would buy any form of a Captain EO Vinylmation for sure! I hope one day one of these ideas comes to fruition.

Vinylmation Dreaming - Inside Out

Welcome to Vinylmation Dreaming, where I talk about a Vinylmation series I dream that Disney would make. Today I want to talk about how I would design an Inside Out Vinylmation series. I would make this an 8 figure blind box set with the following as the 7 common figures:

Bing Bong

Riley

I think they could do some great accessories for Bing Bong's hat and tail! Like they did for the Haunted Mansion Portrait and the Cheshire Cat. They could also put an accessory on Fear's head and give Riley a backpack accessory. I would like to see Joy and Disgust on the Minnie mold too.

I also think it would be awesome to include Bing Bong disappearing as a variant, in the same way they made a Vinylmation of the Cheshire Cat disappearing:

Finally, for the chaser, I would choose Rainbow Unicorn:

Again, I think they could do some great things with an accessory for her horn, and maybe even her hair. I know Inside Out is not a recent release, and is now available to own on DVD and Blu-ray, but I still think this series would be a big hit! I know if it was made well, I would buy a case!

Vinylmation Dreaming - PUSH

A Vinylmation I hope we see in a future Park series is PUSH the talking trash:

PUSH has been making me laugh for years, amusing guests in Tomorrowland at the Magic Kingdom. You'd never know when he would appear and it was always fun to watch him startle guests, who were not expecting a trash can to talk to them - or follow them. (Watch a clip of PUSH)

I think PUSH could be designed in a similar way to the 9" Fantasyland Trash Can Vinylmation from Park #3 but on a 3" mold:

Fantasy Trash Can

I think PUSH would be a great choice for a Vinylmation because he's such a memorable theme park character. After PUSH's retirement commenced in February of this year, I would be even more thrilled to see him immortalized as a Vinylmation. I hope collectors will see him soon.

Vinylmation Dreaming - EPCOT Series

I haven't posted in the Vinylmation Dreaming topic for a while and since I've been feeling the love for EPCOT recently, I wanted to share another of my dream Vinylmation series - the EPCOT series.

This would be a 12 figure set, because it's only fitting, and feature the logos from EPCOT attractions past and present. I've seen something similar done by Disney commissioned custom artist Noah:

And that's the kind of design I have in my head for my EPCOT dream series. On each 3" figure will be a different EPCOT logo. The commons would be:

Horizons - one of my all time favorites of Disney past

The Wonders of Life Pavilion - oh how I miss Body Wars and Cranium Command

World of Motion - I still remember the evolution of transportation

The Universe of Energy - I will always find Ellen funny

Communicore - featuring SMRT-1 of Vinylmation fame

The Land Pavilion - another of my favorite attractions!

The Living Seas - now "The Seas with Nemo and Friends"

Spaceship Earth - back in the days of Walter Cronkite

Journey Into Imagination - the original version with the Dreamfinder

Future World Logo

The World Showcase Logo

And for the chaser... my favorite logo to encompass them all...

The EPCOT park logo!

I wouldn't have any variants because I don't think they would fit. I really hope one day to see my dream series of 12 EPCOT logo figures!

Vinylmation Dreaming - Food Rocks

This post begins another new topic that will regularly feature on this blog... Vinylmation Dreaming, where I share some dreams that I have for Vinylmations I'd like to see put into production.

My dream series today is...

I know we already had a Kitchen Kabaret set in Park #7, but that was a different show to Food Rocks and in my opinion, not as good. I would love to see Food Rocks either as a blind box series or as a limited edition set.

I would like to see one of The Peach Boys:
(Since I have an unhealthy love for The Beach Boys, I would buy a set of just The Peach Boys Vinylmation!)

And one of The Refrigerator Police:
(Preferably the milk carton, but even the guy playing the celery would be cool)

Pita Gabriel:

Fud Wrapper of course:
(with glasses as an accessory - think Nerds Rock)

Richard:
(I can envision the leaf of the pineapple being an accessory like Gifted from Cutesters Too)

Neil Moussaka:
(My personal favorite)

And finally, one of the U-tensils:
(Pictured far right)

Now, if this was a blind box series, there are enough characters to take it up to 12. So far that's 7 and we could also add (aside from another Peach Boy or Refrigerator Police character) one of the Get-the-Point sisters, the Soul of Rock 'n' Roll, one of the characters from Excess, Chubby Cheddar. I would choose a Get-the-Point sister, a character from Excess, another Peach Boy (I love them all!), the guy playing celery in the Refrigerator Police and for the twelfth character... I'm not sure. But I'd make Fud Wrapper the chaser.

If this was an LE set, I would like it to be either a Limited Edition of 1500 (like Kitchen Kabaret was) or 2000 like the Tapestry of Nations set was. As for the price, I won't comment on that because obviously in an ideal world, we'd probably all want to pay like $50 for a set of 6 vinyls. But that's not how things work and so we spend more money than we would in an ideal world. My preference would be for an LE set over a blind box series, but I love and miss Food Rocks so much that I would be thrilled to see either.

So tell me, would you like to see a Food Rocks Vinylmation blind box series or LE set?
