Vinylmation Dreaming - Trash Can Series

Today I have another Vinylmation Dreaming post for you! I'd like to share my idea of a Vinylmation Trash Can series. The trash cans at Walt Disney World have become an icon. Their theming and design makes them blend in and even look attractive. Disney's trash cans have become popular salt and pepper shakers and even Christmas ornaments. Why not have a Vinylmation series?

There is already a 9" Fantasyland trash can Vinylmation from Park #3 which still seems to be popular, so I think a 3" series would be fitting and not overkill at all. I would make this an 8 figure set with some variants. I would have trash cans from across the four parks at Walt Disney World, adding some Disneyland trash cans in there too. I would have Main Street USA, Animal Kingdom, Fantasyland, Adventureland, Tomorrowland, Frontierland and World Showcase as the commons (all pictured above) with Hollywood Studios as the chaser (also pictured above).

PUSH (pictured above) would be a variant for the Tomorrowland Trash Can, and the Walt Disney World version of the Fantasyland trash can would be the variant for the Disneyland trash can (pictured below).

I would also include as third variant, the Dino Institute trash can as a variant of the Animal Kingdom trash can:

Why? Because it's one of my favorites. I think this would be a unique set that would grab the attention of Walt Disney World and Disneyland fans. I think trash can Vinylmation would be popular and fun to own, especially with the popularity of other trash can merchandise.

Vinylmation Stories - Ree Yees

Thanks for joining me for another Vinylmation Story! I'm going to tell you today why I had to add Ree-Yees to my collection. Newer Disney fans might not recognize him, but Disney veterans may remember Ree-Yees from the original Star Tours safety video. I always thought it was funny how he was C-3PO's example of what not to do during your Star Tours flight, by smoking and using flash photography.

As a big fan of Star Tours, I instantly recognized Ree-Yees when I saw him in Park #16. I thought it was fantastic to include some retired characters in the anniversary series. He became a must-have for me when I saw Casey Jones's perfect artwork, and Ree-Yees's camera accessory - he wouldn't have been complete without it! I love looking at Ree-Yees and remembering the original Star Tours flights to Endor.

Beauty and the Beast Series #2 Preview

Photo have surfaced of what appears to be another Beauty and the Beast Vinylmation series. To celebrate the 25th anniversary of Beauty and the Beast this year, an anniversary collection Blu-ray has been released this summer, along with a Tsum Tsum collection, giving reason to believe we will soon see the release of this Vinylmation set.

Beast, Belle, Chip and Mrs. Potts

Human Lumiere, Wardrobe and Cogsworth

Gaston and a Mystery Chaser

This looks to be another 8 figure set with 7 commons and a chaser. More information on price, artist, chaser, variants and a release date will be posted here as soon as it becomes available.

Backside of Vinyls - August

For this month's edition of The Backside of Vinyls, I'm taking a look at the back of the August Vinylmation from the 2013 Poster Art Series. The front and back of this figure is absolutely jammed packed with detail! It's an extremely impressive piece of artwork from artists Maria Clapsis and Jonathan Bishop.

This Vinylmation mixes details from both Walt Disney World and Disneyland, with the back of the figure primarily covering Disneyland. On the back of the Sorcerer's Hat, we can see the X-2 Deep Space Shuttle from Mission Space at Epcot taking off, right next to hang gliders flying through the sky from Epcot and California Adventure's Soarin'

On the back of the vinyl's head, we can see Sleeping Beauty's Castle from Disneyland on the left, next to Rocket to the Moon (a former Disneyland attraction) in the middle, with Disneyland's Matterhorn on the right:

Finally, on the back of the body, we can see Disneyland's monorail:

This is one of those prime examples where you miss so much of the figure by keeping it in the box. I love how not a fraction of an inch is wasted on this figure, it's just bursting with intricate design. Join me next time for another look at the backside of Vinylmation!
