I know, this box shipped in March, it's June and I'm only now posting about it. Not to mention there's been another shipment since then. Better late than never though, right? I wasn't signed up to the Funko Marvel Collector Corps subscription boxes until January/February time this year. I knew of the subscription service, I thought it was super fun, I thought it was a fair price, but looking at the past boxes I wasn't ever impressed with what was inside. I was always glad I didn't pay for them.
But then Captain Marvel came out and after waiting impatiently for its release, I loved the movie as much as I thought I would when it finally came out. Then I discovered the next Marvel Collector Corps box would ship in March and it would be Captain Marvel themed. I decided to take a chance and subscribe. I was very happy with the contents!
The above picture shows everything that came in the Captain Marvel box. Each box costs $29.99 plus tax, shipping is included. For me that ended up being $32 and some change. Marvel Collector Corps is available exclusively through Amazon and if you have prime you get Prime shipping. I do not have Prime but by some stroke of luck, my box arrived the day after it shipped.
Amazon advertises that there will be 4-6 items per box and this box had 4 items: two Funko Pops, a pint glass, and a t-shirt. They ask for your t-shirt size when you order the box but not every box includes a t-shirt. I love the t-shirt so much! I really like the pictures of Captain Marvel in the hangar and her suit is badass! The logo at the bottom and "Higher, further, faster" quote above finishes it all off nicely.
The pint glass is a neat item too with the quote again and Captain Marvel in her full suit and helmet. It's something practical that I will definitely use, but I wish it was dishwasher safe.
The two Funko Pops are Collector Corps exclusives that you can't buy elsewhere. On the left is Nick Fury holding Goose which I thought was really funny and a great idea for a Pop. On the right is Captain Marvel in a flying pose with flames around her hands. I love the pose and she glows in the dark which is awesome! I know here was some criticism that it felt like she was a mash-up of two other Captain Marvel Pops that were exclusive to other locations, but I don't have any Captain Marvel Pops so I was very happy with this one.
I like both of these and I'm going to keep them, but my one criticism of the Marvel Pops (and Star Wars for that matter) is that they're bobble heads. I think that's unnecessary for the majority of characters (Dancing Baby Groot being an exception for example) and makes them look super tacky. For that reason I haven't bought any outside of the Collectors Corps.
I personally would put around a $55 value on this box, not taking the value of exclusives into account. Overall I am really happy with the contents and value of this box and I am so glad I subscribed! I currently still have my Marvel Collector Corps subscription so look for more review posts here later on.
